Kogi Youth Advocacy Clusters hold a round table dialogue with Kogi State house of Assembly members on KYDC Bill.

Kogi youth development Commission Bill KYDC if established the fund will provide financial support for youth residents of Kogi State, for job, wealth creation and to tackle unemployment. KYDC bill will serves as an instrument to inspire the creative and innovative energies of all Kogi youth residents and reduce unemployment across the State.

The Commission will have the mandate to Draw support from Development partners, international Donor agencies and federal government.

During a round table dialogue with actors and the duty bearers in Kogi State sponsored by Participation Initiative for Behavioural Change in Development PIBCID and ActionAid Nigeria, which was held in Abuja Yesterday. Where the Kogi Youth focused civil society organization recognized that for a steady and sustainable economic growth in kogi State Youth must be meaningfully engage in our economic process, they emphasize that skills acquisition is a sure pathway to economic prosperity and personal development of the burgeoning youths in the State, adding that the KYDC Bill will provide a viable platform to bridge the gap of shortage of skilled and employable labour required to all the needs of the job market.

The Speaker Kogi House of Assembly Rt. Hon Kolawole said the bill has passed first reading and its on the second reading and will soon be on for public hearing, he also added that he will see to the success of the bill as it will help the GDP of the State and the Country at large.

Over the years, manpower skills gap remains a significant issue for businesses operating in Kogi state. Several arms and industries across the country are unable to achieve greatness in a sustainable manner, there are thousands of unemployed youths out there desperate to earn a leaving.
